As Oklahomans, addiction is affecting all of us. Our families, our friends, our children and our co-workers. It’s attacking us from all angles. Teens are struggling with prescription abuse. Husbands and wives are having affairs with their computers, while college students and the elderly are seeking relief in one of over 100 casinos in Oklahoma.
It is all around us, it is the epidemic of our generation.
Addiction does not discriminate by social class, spiritual depth, income level, job title or background. Furthermore, no age group, race or gender is immune.
We need to prepare ourselves to begin to help the hurting, prevent abuse in our own families and learn more about how we can start to protect ourselves as well.
“Night of Hope” will help us as we journey to accomplish these objectives.
“Night of Hope” is a one-of-a-kind, free gathering aiming to instill and inspire hope.
Through engaging storytelling from recovery-based speakers, Night of Hope will inform you, enlighten you and educate you. All while pointing us back to the only true healer, Jesus Christ.
Throughout the evening you will have the opportunity to hear from Oklahoma Lt. Governor Todd Lamb, along with two other well-known Oklahomans, Jim Riley and Coach Sean Sutton. Both of whom are living examples of the hope that lies on the other side of addiction. You will not want to miss what these gentlemen have to say when comes to overcoming addiction in the family environment.
Mc’ing the event is Lance Lang. Lance has written a new book, entitled “Hope is Alive, One Addicts Story of Hope.” He will be sharing from it throughout the evening, passing along practical tips to parents, students and others struggling with an addiction.
Additionally, the night will include a special spotlight on local recovery-based organizations that are doing good work to treat the addiction problems we are facing in Oklahoma. These organizations could be great resources for you, a friend or a loved one. So make sure you plan on attending.
