Today I re-enter a room that changed my life completely. At 11:30 this morning I get the great honor of TA’ing (training assistant) the last class of Discovery Dallas. This training looks to be closing up in May due to circumstances beyond anyone’s control. But before that final closing date, one more class of individuals, all deserving love, support, encouragement and inspiration will get the great privilege of experiencing this wonderful program.
It’s quite an honor to have been asked to be a part of the leadership of this final class. I am humbled and overjoyed to have been given the invitation. I don’t take the responsibility lightly, because I know first-hand the potential life changing/ life giving power this program possess.
I know, because this is the program God used to help me find my heart again.
I know many of you don’t know anything about this training, nor do you know the people who will take part in it this weekend. But nonetheless, I ask you from the bottom of my heart to take a moment and pray for these 40+ individual and the 12 leaders.
The class will be full of mom’s and dad’s, businessmen and bartenders, singers and strippers, over-achiever’s and drug addicts, preachers and punk rockers. It’s always a perfect mix of people, all desperately seeking a way to change their lives.
They need to feel the love God has for them. They deserve to feel accepted and built up just for who they are. For possibly the first time in their life, they need to be listened to, to be cared for or to be told that they are loved.
So if you get a moment this morning, say a little prayer for these brave souls. These warriors willing to take a hard look at their past, confront their behaviors and set out to change their future.
Pray for: patience, persistence, peace, love, sincerity, honor, vision, clarity, boldness and courage.
But most of all pray that the spirit of God would move through the rooms and fill the hearts of these people.
For we know that when we experience God, we will never be the same.
Hope is Alive!
