In the spirit of the Grammy’s last night, we’re starting the week off with a song. A song that should have won a Grammy last night, but surprisingly wasn’t nominated. I guess it must have missed the cut off date.  No this isn’t a Lorde track or a Daft Punk jam, it’s more of a classical piece I suppose.

We’re kicking it old school and jump-starting our week with a tune by an artist named David. If there was ever an artist who knew and understood redemption and faith it was David. I can really relate to David, he had made several bad choices, including adultery and leading the way in a murder conspiracy, but ultimately David sought forgiveness, held strong to his faith and trusted that God would always protect and provide. He was a second chancer, a true Hope Dealer. So much so, David was referred to as a man after God’s own heart. That’s a pretty good tag line for a guy with such a checkered past. I hope people can one day say that about me.
So as you start your week, read through this song and dwell on its promise. The promise that God will be your keeper, protecting you from evil, walking beside you as you journey through the week. Keep the faith my friends!
Psalm 121 (ESV)

My Help Comes from the Lord

A Song of Ascents.

121 I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot be moved;
he who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, he who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord is your keeper;
the Lord is your shade on your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day,
nor the moon by night.
The Lord will keep you from all evil;
he will keep your life.
The Lord will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time forth and forevermore.
