The adventure of grace is where we belong. It fits around us like a perfectly stitched set of footie pajamas. You slide into it and life just seems to make sense around you. Ego and pride seem meaningless, worry and doubt seem like wastes of time, and the solitude you used to despise becomes a welcome home. When you step in to the grace that accompanies a faith in Jesus Christ, the world begins to make a lot more sense. Your life begins to make more sense; you past begins to make more sense. Your pain will begin to make more sense.
Even in times when pain seems to be all we see, faith in Jesus enables us to survive, to stand firm. His scandalous grace helps us to overcome the roar of fear that seems to swell in the distance. We see it out there, we know inevitable its coming. But grace teaches us that the love of the Savior is always one step ahead of the pain while simultaneously holding His arms open waiting to catch us on the other side. It’s this ‘always gonna be there’ kind of love that sets us free. We know that we’ll always be rescued. It’s not a permission slip to act up, but rather a promise of what comes by faith. It’s freedom. It’s restoration. Its an adventure, an adventure of grace.
