Years ago a submarine was rammed by another ship and quickly it sank to the bottom of the ocean. The entire crew was trapped inside that submarine. Many boats rushed to the disaster, but no one really knew what the submarine crew went through in those few hours underneath the water. Men bravely clung to all the oxygen that they could as it slowly began to run out. One diver, who came to the rescue, swam down and put his ear to the side of the submarine and listened. The diver heard tapping noises – someone was banging out a message in Morse code. Bang, Bang, BANG, BANG BANG!! The noise went on for a few moments.
The message was a question: “Is there any hope?”
That question, is the cry of all humanity. Is there any hope? The answer?? Yes.
HERE IS YOUR HOPE…THE HOPE OF CHRISTMAS!
“For a child is born to us, a Son is given to us. The government will rest on His shoulders. And He will be called: Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. His government and its peace will never end. He will rule with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David for all eternity. The passionate commitment of the LORD of Heaven’s Armies will make this happen!”
Today friends we have hope! And its much closer than it may appear. In fact its just a prayer away. Today you can embrace a hope that never rests or grows weary, but builds stronger and stronger with each passing day. A hope that offers you a life free from the pain of the past. Who promises peace, love and acceptance. A hope that whispers to you encouragement not judgment.
A hope that longs to see you filled with joy, chasing after the true purpose in which He created you. This hope is Jesus and this Christmas He is ready to take away your burdens and replace them with freedom. Embrace Him today.
Even if you’re skeptical, what could it hurt? You really have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
My prayer for you this Christmas is “Is there any hope?” with a resounding YES!
